Former Kakamega Senator, Boni Khalwale laid bare ODM leader, Raila Odinga's, alleged plan to drag Deputy President William Ruto into a murky affair in Kibra by-election.
The bullfighter lashed out at Odinga during a morning political analysis show on NTV on Tuesday, October 1.
Khalwale argued that Odinga was out to create tension in Kibra ahead of the by-election.
"There is a deliberate effort by the Orange Democratic Party to pull the DP into Kibra so that they create a contest between the DP and the former Prime Minister.
"We will not take that invitation the fight in Kibra is between the contestants. Remember DP Ruto has never set foot in the area," Khalwale declared.
Khalwale sentiments coincide with the DP's sentiments who seemingly has fallen into the trap.
Ruto on Sunday, September 29, stated that he would be on the frontline in Kibra campaigns that would see Jubilee pitch camp in Kibra.
While speaking at Kapseret Constituency in Uasin Gishu County, the DP insisted that the move would ensure that McDonald Mariga, floors ODM in the parliamentary seat.
He further took a swipe at Odinga stating that the sorry state of Kibra Constituency was due to negligence.
“I was shocked when an individual lay claim that Kibra is their political bedroom and the region did not even have toilets and locals are grappling with dire sanitation challenges. It is the Jubilee government that built roads and public toilets in Kibra,” the DP argued.
While speaking with Kenyans.co.ke, Khalwale, however, defended his sentiments arguing that the Ruto will campaign for Mariga in Kibra and that his presence in the area would be in the stature of a Deputy President but as a 2022 presidential candidate.
"Ruto will be in Kibra to campaign for Mariga if he indeed stated that. However, he will be there also to assert his decision to run in 2022 and also as a Jubilee party leader. He won't be in Kibra as a Deputy President," Khalwale played coy.
