Police Nab Tanzanian Woman 'Hawking' Her Children

Police in Bondo arrested a Tanzanian woman who had crossed the border in a bid to find buyers for her two children.

The woman identified as Zaidi Hassan was arrested after she was found hawking the children aged one and four years.

Standard Digital reported that the mother of four was arrested at a parking lot while she was advertising her children.

She had announced that she was selling the minors at Ksh 60,000 and Ksh 55,000 respectively.

"This attracted members of the public who became curious, and wanted to know why she was selling those children," divulged Juma Abuko, a resident who witnessed the incident.

After a brief interrogation by the public, Ms Hassan revealed that she had arrived in Bondo Town from Busia the same day.

She further stated that she had four children and had already sold two in Kisumu.

Bondo police boss Anthony Wafula confirmed the arrest, stating that he had been informed of the suspect by members of the public.

Police officers detained Ms Hassan and her children as they launched investigations into the matter.
