Mudavadi Tears Into Ruto Over Karen Meetings

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi mocked Deputy President William Ruto for inviting guests at what he called the government’s house in Karen.

KTN News reported on Tuesday, October 8, that Mudavadi called out Ruto for what he termed as misuse of government taxes and property.

“I was in the States and I heard people were being sent to Karen for meetings. That is a government residence,” Mudavadi revealed.

Mudavadi added that it was wrong of Ruto to go on using the residence he had been given by the government for selfish reasons.

“The house has been built by taxes from Kenyans. Kenyans have given him a residence and he is turning it into his personal home,” Mudavadi reiterated.

The ANC leader narrated that citizens were being invited to the house for food and political agendas that were only beneficial to the deputy president.

“You have given him [Ruto] a residence through your taxes and he, in turn, invites you for food,” Mudavadi mentioned.

Mudavadi reiterated that citizens who deserved accountability for how their taxes were being taken advantage of by the current government.

The former deputy prime minister was speaking at a press conference where he continued to drum up support for ANC candidate for the Kibra by-election Eliud Owalo.

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday, September 29, stated that he would be on the frontline in Kibra campaigns that would see Jubilee pitch camp in Kibra.

He had invited Kibra residents at his posh Karen home and Karen office on two different occasions in a sustained campaign for Mariga.

On Tuesday, October 1, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale argued that Odinga allegedly planned to drag Ruto to campaign in Kibra in a supremacy battle between the two top leaders in a trap that would leave Ruto red-faced.

Ruto on the same day refuted the claims and stated that he was out to ensure that Kibra residents elected a leader who would serve them for the following three years.
