DP Ruto & Kipchoge Party After Incredible Run [PHOTOS]

The first man to run a sub-2-hour marathon, Eliud Kipchoge and Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday, October 12 got together for a colourful afterparty.

Speaking during the celebration, DP Ruto confessed to having been a bundle of nerves throughout Kipchoge's amazing 1:59:40 marathon.

"We were all nervous and anxious, but you calmed down our nerves and broke the barrier of limitations. You are simply great," he narrated.

Ineos - a privately owned UK multinational chemicals company headquartered in London, UK and owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, catered for the entire event.

The British billionaire was also sponsored the race in which Kipchoge went on to achieve the seemingly impossible fete of running a 2-hour marathon.

Back in Kenya, the capital city's most iconic building - the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), was a sight to behold with stunning lightworks in honour of the marathoner.

In his post-race statement, Kipchoge was quick to acknowledge everyone who had played a part in propelling him to his phenomenal achievement.

“Today we went to the Moon and came back to earth! I am at a loss for words for all the support I have received from all over the world. Thank you to all who gave me the opportunity. Asante,” Kipchoge posted on his twitter page before going on to enjoy himself at the afterparty.
