Man Entrusted With Uhuru's Deepest Secrets

President Uhuru Kenyatta is the most powerful man in Kenya and is surrounded by various people, who have specific roles to help him run the country.

One such man is Jomo Gecaga, his private secretary who has worked with the president since the 2007 elections.

Gecaga manages the president's diary and facilitates his appointments, including clearances and confirmations, making him one of the few people who knows what the president is doing at a specific time.

He also helps coordinate the preparation of presidential functions, speeches, tours and visits.

Before working for President Kenyatta, Gecaga served Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju in the same capacity, when he was a Foreign Affairs minister during former President Mwai Kibaki's tenure.

Gecaga was the overall head of 'Team Uhuru' during the presidential campaigns in 2017.

Jomo is the son of Udi and Jeni Gecaga and is the brother to KICC CEO Nana Gecaga. Jeni was the late president Jomo Kenyatta's daughter.

He attended Eton College, a prestigious school in Windsor Berkshire.
