DP Ruto Lands in Kibra With Bag Full of Goodies

Deputy President William Ruto, on Sunday, October 27 made a list of pledges to the residents of Kibra, that would be fast-tracked if they chose McDonald Mariga as their Member of Parliament during the November 7 by-election.

Speaking in Lindi grounds, Kibra, DP Ruto was quick to point out the various projects his government was working on to improve the livelihoods of the residents of Kibra.

"If you are a resident of Kibra, as the Jubilee government we want to construct houses, so that if you are paying Ksh 4,000 or Ksh 5,000, after a period of only 15 years the house becomes yours permanently," he stated.

In a bid to secure crucial votes for his party's candidate in the hotly contested Kibra parliamentary by-election, Ruto promised to kickstart the construction of a technical training college in the area, Citizen TV reported.

Going a step further to add that the various technicians would break ground on the very next day following Mariga's victory.

He also vowed to generate employment for the thousands of Kibra youth who were languishing in poverty.

"I am also aware that so many youths have no jobs, if you elect Mariga on November 7, on November 8 we shall sit down with him so that by next year we have a training college here," the country's second in command pledged.

DP Ruto vowed to work hand in hand with Mariga to change the story of the people of Kibra, from that of despair and poverty to one of hope and prosperity.

He went on to condemn the chaotic incidents witnessed earlier on in the area, where Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader's vehicle was pelted by stones as angry youth chased them away.
