MP's Ex-Husband Released in Cohen Murder Case

A suspect in the murder case of Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen was released under tough conditions on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

Hot 96 FM reported that Peter Karanja, was freed on a Ksh2 million cash bail.

His case was also scheduled for mention on November 12, 2019.

Karanja is the former husband to Gilgil MP Martha Wangari. Wangari on Friday, October 25, denied an assertion he would live at their Gilgil home, once he was released.

Through her lawyer George Kimani, the lawmaker denied that Karanja also owned the home in question.

"The Gilgil home is subject to several court cases on ownership," the court heard.

Another suspect, Sarah Wairimu Cohen, the deceased's widow, is also out on bail.

On Friday, October 11, Wairimu was released an a Ksh2 million cash bail or Ksh4 million bond with the court issuing three tough conditions for her release.

She was ordered not to set foot at her Kitisuru home which was declared a crime scene.
