Fireworks Expected at Hussein Mohamed's Last Show on Citizen TV

Citizen TV's Hussein Mohamed is set to host his last show on the Royal Media Services station and he seems to have decided to bow out with a hard-punching interview.

The News Night host on Tuesday, October 29, will host rivals Kipchumba Murkomen and John Mbadi at 9 p.m.

Jubilee's Murkomen is the Senate majority leader while ODM's Mbadi is the minority leader of the National Assembly.

"Here goes the final one. Tonight (Tuesday, October 29) on News Night," Mohamed captioned on his Twitter alongside a poster of the interview.

Mbadi and Murkomen are expected to face off on various issues that have had the two leaders brush shoulders.

The two are expected to, first of all, engage in a heated debate over the Building Bridges Initiative, a project Murkomen has strongly criticised while Mbadi has fiercely supported.

Another bone of contention will be the Kibra by-elections slated for November 7. Murkomen, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, supports McDonald Mariga while Mbadi supports ODM's Imran Okoth.

In October 2019, the two leaders were embroiled in a big spat over budget allocations to devolved units. Murkomen led the Senate in blaming the legislators for strangling operations within the 47 counties after the two houses differed on the amount of money to be allocated to counties.

The power struggle issue between the two houses will most definitely arise since their last meeting on Citizen TV on July 18, 2019ended with John Mbadi, scolding Kipchumba Murkomen, over the stalemate between the two houses.

Other than that, the two lawyers may also drift into the controversial Mau evictions and the outrageous church donations by Deputy President William Ruto. Murkomen vocally criticised the evictions while Mbadi staunchly attacked Ruto's donations.

Murkomen took to social media to heap praise on the anchor ahead of his exit from Citizen TV.

"Mohamed is one of our greatest journalists and a competent moderator of political debates. Tonight (Tuesday, October 29) will be his final show and I am honoured to be part of the panel together with John Mbadi. Looking forward to having a constructive dialogue," Murkomen lauded through Instagram.

Mohamed will set the course and may announce his next stop after ending his 10-year stint at Citizen TV.
