Bahati Breaks Bank, Pulls a Surprise on Popular Gospel Musician

Gospel singer Bahati (Kelvin Bahati) came to the rescue of endeared gospel musician Dennis Karanja alias Denno, in a noble gesture that would finally save the visually impaired singer from the struggles of public transport

Taking to social media on Wednesday, October 30, Bahati disclosed how he bought and delivered a car to the musician. The car was the first-ever for the Mbona hitmaker who broke into tears upon receiving the gift.

Bahati bought a brand new blue Nissan March for his compatriot approximated to cost over Ksh500,000.

"I have had sleepless nights thinking of how Denno has faced embarrassing moments in matatus. Since his first hit song, his life has never transformed.

"No matter the fights I go through after helping different artists, God has still given me a burden to make sure I don't stop until the African child is Inspired. Thank you to all my fans for supporting and believing in me since day one. It's because of your love and support that I'm able to support others," Bahati posted on Instagram.

In the video shared by Bahati, Denno's wife was handed the key and logbook of the car, as Bahati blessed them to start a new life.

Bahati has over the years built his brand to be one of the highest-paid entertainers in Kenya.

During an interview with K24 TV’s Betty Kyallo on Friday, August 30, 2019, Bahati disclosed how much he charges for performances.

“If one wants to hire me, he or she should be armed with Ksh700,000 for an 18- to 25-minute performance,” Bahati revealed.

That means if you wanted to book him for a two-hour performance, you would have to part with around Ksh3.6 million.

That translates about Ksh28,000 per minute, an amount that many Kenyans can only make after a month's work.
