Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange Parties in New York With Kenya's Elite [VIDEO]

Citizen TV news anchor Jeff Koinange got his groove on the night of Wednesday, November 6, when he turned up at a party in New York.

In a Twitter post, the boisterous media personality revealed that he attended a cocktail party with some of Kenya's elite in the high-end neighbourhood of Manhattan in New York.

He revealed that the party had been put together to launch Kenya's bid for a Non-Permanent Seat at the United Nations.

In the subsequent photos that he put up, the jovial anchor poses with some of Kenya's legends including famed marathoner Tegla Lorupe and rugby star, Collins Injera.

"About last night - hanging out with Kenya's legends in NYC! Collins Injera and Tegla Lorupe were some of the superstars at the Foreign Affairs Ministry cocktail in Manhattan as Kenya prepares to launch its bid for a Non-Permanent Seat at the UN," posted the anchor.

Some of the high-profile Kenyans who attended the event include KQ CEO Sebastian Mikosz and Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau.

On Wednesday, October 30, President Uhuru Kenyatta had announced that the country would formally launch its bid for the seat on Thursday, November 7, in New York.

The event was expected to be presided over by the Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma.

“Following Kenya’s endorsement by the African Union, my Foreign Minister Monica Juma will officially launch Kenya’s candidature for the UNSC non-permanent seat on November 7,” stated Uhuru in a speech delivered by CAS Ababu Namwamba to the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The African Union, in August, endorsed Kenya for the seat after the country beat Djibouti with 37 votes against 13.
