Section of Mombasa Road to be Closed For 8 Days

The Kenya National Highways Authority on Tuesday, November 12, announced that a section of the busy Mombasa Road would be closed for a period of eight days.

"KeNHA wishes to inform the general public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) at Mlolongo will be closed between the dates of November 12, 2019, and November 20, 2019," read an excerpt of the press statement released by the state agency.

The closure will be effected to facilitate the installation of the deck of a footbridge in Mlolongo Town.

According to the press release, several officers will be deployed to help guide motorists plying the busy road.

"Motorists in Mombasa will use the provided diversion as directed by the signs and traffic marshals," read a section of KeNHA's press release.

On the same day, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority(KURA) also announced that the junction of Ring Road Parklands at 4th Parklands would remain closed for a week.

KURA went on to advise motorists to find alternative routes from Monday, 11th Nov 2019 till Sunday, 17th Nov 2019 due to the ongoing construction at the section.

On November 5, the road agency closed off the Lang'ata - Ngong Road link for 4 days to allow for the installation of beams.
