Baboons Raid University, Students Scamper For Safety [VIDEO]

In an undated video that emerged online on Friday 15, 2019, students from Multi Media University based in Ongata Rongai had to run for their lives after they were attacked by a troop of baboons.

The students were playing basketball at the university's playground oblivious of the danger lurking behind the trees.

In the video, one student was seen walking when one baboon came charging at him, he opted to take on his heels for safety.

The other learners who were watching from one of the hostel's windows could not contain their laughter as the rest of the troop of monkeys chased after the students.

One of the comrades ran in a confusing manner, heading back to where the baboons had come from.

The animals also turned and followed him but luckily, his speed saved him from the baboons' wrath.

The video elicited mixed reactions from netizens some of them blaming human encroachment to the animal's natural habitat for such incidents.

Others made fun of the students, claiming that the baboons were revenging over the frequent strikes by the students that forced police to use tear gas, which also affected them.

Students from the university stated that the attack was not an isolated case.

A former student of the university, Collins Osanya who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke confirmed the baboons and warthogs were usually seen in the compound, having strayed from the nearby Nairobi National Park.
