Murkomen Poses 2 Tough Questions to Uhuru on Citizen TV [VIDEO]

Seemingly dissatisfied with the recently released Building Bridges Initiative, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has posed two tough questions to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking on Citizen TV's Newsnight on Tuesday, November 26, the lawmaker made it clear that he had some pending questions to the president and hoped that they would be answered on Wednesday, November 27 during a meeting at Bomas.

The questions gravitated around presidential poll losers and how the report was prepared to deal with them.

"The thing I want to hear tomorrow is, 'how has the BBI addressed the problem of the loser in a presidential election refusing to concede defeat?'

"Number two, you talk about devolution and say that you are going to move health workers to form National Health Commission but you have not moved the health function to the national level and will Kenyans accept the move?" posed the legislator.

While on the programme, Murkomen further disclosed that he was shocked when he arrived at State House for BBI release after learning that Uhuru was its sole head.

"We were also told something that maybe I didn't pay close attention before that it was a presidential task force and that it was the president who was receiving the report and the only one who can avail it to the public.

"That was surprising to me because it had been projected before as though it was the president's and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's report. We were told that the report was given to the president and him alone will release it to the public," he continued.

The biggest takeaway from the report was the addition of the prime minister's position but the head of state would still be powerful.

In the BBI report, the president remains the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief, while the PM will draw his powers from parliament and supervises the execution of government duties.
