DP Ruto's Gesture Leaves Jubilee MP Close to Tears

Deputy President William Ruto's visit to Jubilee Nominated Member of Parliament David Ole Sankok's home on Tuesday, December 3, left the MP close to tears.

The legislator, in a long post on his Facebook page on Wednesday, December 4, revealed that DP Ruto's impromptu visit to his residence had left him overwhelmed and humbled.

"I appreciate a great friend, a political mentor, and a great leader who is second in command in our great republic. Ever since I met him during my university days and he saved me from crawling by buying me a pair of crutches when he was an assistant minister in the Moi regime, he has been my great friend and a mentor," Sankok gushed.

 

The MP revealed that he shared a deep relationship with the deputy president, with the DP having come through to help him through various tough situations.

Sankok further stated that the DP visited his entire family and staff at his restaurant, where he was honoured with a leadership symbol in the form of a club by Sankok's father.

He revealed that the gesture by the deputy president had touched him deeply and had renewed his convictions to fight alongside him in the race to take the top seat in 2022.

"Though he is my boss and second in command in the leadership of our country, his humility melts even the strongest of hearts. I was so humbled and tongue-tied. I was so honoured that his excellency the Deputy President came to my home in all power and glory," he narrated.

DP Ruto, towards the end of his trip, visited the Enkare Ngiro Primary School in the region where he made a donation of Ksh9.7 million to aid the construction of a new secondary school in the area.

He also spent time with Sankok's family and employees at his lodge and also spent time with the youth in the region where they discussed the opportunities present for them in the government.

Sankok marveled at the gestures by the deputy president, stating that he had changed the community in a powerful way.

"Thank you, your excellency, for sparing time in your busy schedule to visit Enkare Ngiro Primary School. Thank you for visiting my home and my business premises. Thank you for giving hope to my employees. Thank you for lighting the faces of my kids. Thank you for making my siblings excited. Thank you for appreciating Ewaso Ngiro youths, Thank you for giving my people a secondary school," he concluded.
