MP Alice Wahome Cries to DCI After Police Boss Defiles His Daughter

Kandara MP Alice Wahome on Thursday, December 5, reached out to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations after a police boss was implicated in a defilement case.

A report by Daily Nation had indicated that the officer attached to Isebania Police Station had defiled his own daughter on Friday, November 1, before locking her up in police cells.

Taking to Facebook, the MP decried the heinous act and urged the DCI to speed up investigations and get justice for the girl.

"This is another sad case of child abuse, defilement of a child by the father, the person supposed to be protecting her.

"Secondly, most fowl and gross misconduct and abdication of duty by (the police boss) and other officers who handled the report by this girl and her grandmother. There is a criminal case that must be pursued by the DCI," lamented Wahome.

The defilement story which was broken by Daily Nation on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

The lawmaker further demanded that the attorney general be sued over the matter.

"The attorney general must be sued for wrongful imprisonment of a minor. These police officers must be removed from service. I want to commend action being taken by IPOA (The Independent Policing Oversight Authority)," she continued.

The victim had earlier told the press that she was locked up when she attempted to report her father to the officers.

She narrated that her assailant lured her into his bedroom and defiled her in broad daylight as she tried to ask him to settle her school fees balance.

"I went to see him to collect my fee balance on the instructions of my grandmother with whom I lived. She could not afford Ksh13,890 which I owed the school so I went to my father who operates a pub in Nyabohanse Town.

"I was cleaning utensils when he came home that morning. He called me to his bedroom as he wanted me to do some shopping for breakfast. I was helpless as he pinned me on his bed and committed the act,” she narrated.

Quoting Kuria West Police Chief Benard Muriuki, the newspaper reported that the accused went into hiding after the defilement story broke.

“We have established his hideout following tip-offs by locals and are narrowing down on him. We expect to have him arrested soon so that justice can be served for the minor,” stated Muriuki.
