Puzzle as Furniture Worth Ksh3 Million Disappears From Speaker's House

Executive furniture estimated to be worth Ksh3 million went missing from the official residence of the Kisumu County Assembly speaker in Milimani, Kisumu.

According to a report by Citizen Digital on Wednesday, December 18, the missing items, cabinets, executive sofa sets, executive bed, TV and other furniture all belonged to the County Government of Kisumu as stated by County Assembly acting Clerk Owen Ojuok.

The incident prompted the officials to report the matter to Kisumu Central Police Station for investigation.

Ojuok explained that the property was to be handed back over to the county by former Speaker Onyango Oloo.

Ojuok added that the former speaker did not visit the premises since his ouster.

"Oloo vacated the speaker's house the same day the judgement was delivered," Ojuok was quoted by Citizen Digital.

Members of a team from the county assembly who were taking inventory on county property learnt of the situation when they visited the house.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, a police officer from Kisumu Central Police Station explained that, "Yes the county filed the case with us, the investigations are ongoing, and we will inform when there is progress."

He added that detectives had a few leads they were following and would hopefully wrap up the case.
