Ruto Takes Ababu Namwamba's Event by Storm

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday, December 22, was a guest of Foreign Affairs CAS Ababu Namwamba in Budalangi, Busia County.

Taking to social media, DP Ruto informed that he had attended the official opening ceremony of Isambo Beach Carnival hosted by Namwamba.

"Culture is the reservoir of our collective experience and everything unique about us, not just today but across generations. It is a deep well that we draw from in times of joy, crisis, and even sadness," Ruto wrote.

The Isambo Beach Carnival was held on the shores of Lake Victoria in Busia County to celebrate cultural fusion and showcase the region as a magnet for sports, cultural and nature tourism.

"Isambo in Luhya means celebration and being happy. We are here to rejoice and identify with our culture, natural resources like hills, water towers and our people. This is an annual event that has drawn people from Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Kakamega, Vihiga and Siaya counties," Ababu described the event to The Standard.

Some of the activities held during the festival include boat races, beach boxing, beach wrestling, beach volleyball, athletics, football, beauty contests, tug-of-war, and food competitions.

Earlier in the day, the DP had a rare outing alongside his wife Rachel Ruto and his young daughter, when they attended a church service at Salvation Army Church in Turbo Constituency, Uasin Gishu County

At the church, he cut a conciliatory tone far, away from his visits to other churches which are at times characterized by political messages.

At the church, he urged the congregants to keep praying for the country to ensure that development is achieved and so that peace became an everyday feature.

"When you get a chance, do good things to everyone, therefore, I would like to request you to pray for all of us, and keep praying for the entire country's leadership.

He also urged the leaders to keep doing good things to each other as the bible dictated.
