Moses Kuria's New Year Message Leaves Tongues Wagging

Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria's message on the cusp of the new year 2020 raised concerns among many of his followers.

In a post on his social media pages on Wednesday, January 1, the vocal MP announced some radical changes in his life in 2020, a matter that many found to be unprecedented.

Happy New Year 2020 good people. For those who thought they know me, I am deactivation [sic] my social media accounts, except Whatsapp, throughout 2020. See you in 2021. This is my last post of the year. I am also off alcohol throughout the year 2020. Tukutane kwa ground (Let's meet at the grassroots level)," he announced.

Kuria, who is known for his active social media use to air his often controversial statements, caught many off-guard with the announcement.

"We will miss you and your posts... Happy new 2021 in advance if that's when we will see you again," Carol Caxton reacted.

"Happy new year. I hope your personal reforms be actualized as you transform into a new leader. Happy 2020," Serem Felix weighed in.

Others, however, approached the announcement by Kuria with a bit of skepticism.

"What will give you confidence if NOT the waters of Gatundu?" Steve K Steven pondered.

"That DEACTIVATION is intentional to keep your highly petty followers busy. I know that they will rant about it the whole year while you are away. Otherwise happy and prosperous 2020 Musa," CDE Rosco opined.

"You are not alone Mheshimiwa. We have made such and many more commitments over the years but we break them without any apologies. You too will. Happy New Year," Rufus Murithi expressed his pessimism.
