Babu Owino Plot Thickens as Police Go After Woman

The case involving a shooting incident at B-Club in Kilimani, Nairobi on January 17, linked to Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino took a new twist as investigators launched a search for an unidentified woman.

According to a report published by the Sunday Standard, the woman in question is believed to have been in the company of the legislator during the shooting and was captured on the nightclub's CCTV footage seated next to a man alleged to be the MP during the shooting.

"From the available CCTV clips, we believe that the woman has crucial information on what transpired on that night," an investigator stationed at the Kilimani precinct stated.

From the video which was leaked to the public following the incident, a woman donned in a light yellow blazer can be seen conversing with another woman on the bottom right frame.

The two were seated right next to the man in an orange top - believed to be Babu Owino, leading up to the shooting.

Reports further revealed that the legislator was on Saturday, January 18, taken to the government chemist where samples of his DNA were taken for testing.

Lead investigators revealed that they were seeking to test Babu Owino's DNA sample against samples collected from the Stayer gun believed to belong to the MP.

The visit to the laboratory was also geared towards establishing whether or not Babu pulled the trigger that left Feix Orinda alias Dj Evolve fighting for his life at the Nairobi Hospital.

Emergency surgery was needed to remove the bullet that was lodged in the DJ's neck, with the latest reports revealing that another surgery was scheduled to remove a blood clot.

Babu Owino spent the second day in custody following the incident, as investigators continue to piece together what transpired at the popular club leading up to the shooting.
