Uhuru Appointee Narrates Being Kicked Out of KTN Show

Ministry of ICT Chief Administrative Secretary Nadia Ahmed Abdalla on Thursday, January 30, gave her testimony about losing out on an opportunity at KTN

Ms Nadia, who was a contestant on the Ms President show narrated that she had already been eliminated during the launch of the program.

"30th January 2019 exactly one year today, I stood in front of foreign dignitaries, Cabinet secretaries, ambassadors, Members of Parliament and all other officials to give the opening speech to officially launch Ms President leadership reality television show on behalf of all the 73 participants that were on the show.

"What Kenyans who we’re watching didn’t know is that at that very given moment I was making that speech, I knew I was no longer competing in the show. I had already been eliminated six days back," she wrote on her Twitter page.

Despite having a myriad of feelings during the launch of the show, Nadia did not let that stop her from making her speech.

"I had to show up, make the speech and be an example and motivation to all the youth and women watching me to keep going and keep pushing because you just never know whose attention you will grab and who is watching.

"Getting eliminated was the best thing that happened (of course I was disappointed and angry ) but it was best because as I walked off the stage after my speech. I knew there was no going back," she continued.

In addition, Nadia stated that the experience made her hungry to do more and to maintain the journey that she had already started.

She expressed gratitude to her mentors, whom she explained played a significant role in helping her push beyond her comfort zone.

"Let's learn from mentors, those who have more experience than us. Let us put ourselves in spaces that make us uncomfortable and let us always be a true representation of our inner self," she concluded.

Prior to her appointment, Nadia was actively serving as a Fierce Lady official - a communication network that comprises of public relations experts.

She is an author who published her first book, The Feminist, in the US in April 2017.

In the book, Nadia covered her personal journey in trying to understand what feminism was all about as well as the general theories and misconceptions around the feminist movement.
