Itumbi Rubbishes Secret Plot Against DP Ruto

Blogger Dennis Itumbi has taken head-on the narrative alleging that Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 bid is threatened by certain individuals in government.

In a statement on his social media pages on February 5, 2020, Itumbi insisted that the concept of having members of government agencies or the military believed to be involved in the secret manipulation or control of government policy (deep state) to frustrate Ruto was being propagated by some politicians in the ODM Party.

"I have been asked so many times, I have been tagged hundred of times and seen the deep state nonsense thrown around with so much finality. I ignored.

"Then I learned, some people are targeting others by telling them DP William Ruto will never be president because the deep state had decided and adding International Community too [sic]," he began.

Revisiting events in the country's political scene, Itumbi insisted that if it indeed was true that such a concept existed, then politics would be entirely predictable and coordinated.

Taking the case of the late Mzee Daniel Moi, he insisted that if a deep state existed, President Uhuru Kenyatta, his prodigy, would not have lost the 2002 elections.

Itumbi also insisted that in 2017, President Uhuru Kenyatta would have had the support of the supposed cabal, yet could not predict the outcome of the election petition lodged by the ODM Party at the Supreme Court that saw Jubilee's win trashed.

Itumbi also denied claims that an elaborate system had been used to manipulate the polls in Jubilee's favour in the 2017 and 2013 elections as had been alleged.

"I was with UhuRuto as the results streamed in 2013 and 2017 and I can tell you for a fact they worked the pen and projections like all of us. If they had an idea of pre-determined results by a mythical deep state, they would have slept away the election result nights.

"So when anyone sends you those messages, take a screenshot and share it with me. We will expose those rumour mongers who pretend to be neutral on their pages publicly, but like cowards, go to the private space to wage the misinformation war," he concluded.
