A family in Machakos County is mourning the death of their adult children who died in a period of just 11 days.
According to a report by K24 Digital, two of the siblings, Rex and Feaven are said to have died in a road accident that took place along Mombasa Road on February 17, days after their brother had been buried on February 15.
“The family first lost their first-born, Larry, in a mysterious death on February 6. He just slept and never woke up the next day. Although a forensic investigation was conducted, the cause of death remains unclear,” a friend to the family stated.
Rex, Feaven and three others had allegedly gone to buy food at Machakos when the accident took place.
"On the fateful day, they had been joined by three others; a cousin, the parent’s farm manager and a friend.
"On their way back, they used a different route and were involved in a head-on collision on Mombasa Road as another vehicle tried to overtake. The two siblings and a cousin died on the spot,” the family friend added.
The parent's farm manager and their friend sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.
On the other hand, the siblings' bodies were taken to Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home in Machakos.
They will be buried on Saturday, February 29, in Vota.
On Friday, February 21, after a businessman, Kennedy Ambani, his wife and two children were brutally murdered at their home in Basamu village, Vihiga County.
This is after the family was attacked by a gang of seven, who were armed with machetes and blunt objects.
Vihiga Deputy Sub-county Commander Zachariah Wafula assured that police would conduct a thorough investigation, unearth the killers and motive behind the murders.
“So far no one has been arrested following the attack, but the police have started their investigations to bring the perpetrators to book,” Wafula stated.
