Keiyo North MP James Murgor Caused Drama in Court After he told lawyer Philip Murgor to stop referring to him has 'honourable'.
In the case, heard on Thursday, February 28, the MP's siblings accused the legislator of giving himself the lion's share of their late father's Ksh2 billion estate.
James claimed that his namesake, the former DPP, was using the title in a sarcastic manner.
“Just refer to me as James lest you make me angry,” he ordered at the lawyer in the packed courtroom.
Justice Hellen Omondi was forced to step, asking the MP to control his temper.
“Dr Murgor, you must accept that you are an elected Member of Parliament and there is no harm in being referred to as honourable MP by the complainant’s lawyer.
"I expect that you to keep your emotion down lest you will lose track of the questions that you are being asked by the lawyer,” responded Justice Omondi.
The suit had been filed by Enit Murgor on behalf of her siblings.
Their father, late former Keiyo Central MP William Murgor died in 2009 and is survived by five wives and 25 children.
The disgruntled siblings argued that the will used to distribute the late MP's vast estate was forged.
Among the assets in contention include large tracts of land measuring more than 2,000 acres in Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet as well as commercial plots in Eldoret.
