Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici left tongues wagging on Tuesday, April 7, as she shared her take on the viral 'Don't Rush' challenge which has taken the internet by storm for weeks.
Participants in the challenge are seen without any make-up, before hiding the camera with a brush and re-emerging into view with a whole new look.
In Ngirici's video, she lay in bed wearing a stocking on her head with no make-up, taking the brush thrown to her as if she had just woken up.
Ngirici then disappeared from view as she blocked the camera lens with a make-up brush in the video set to a song by UK Grime artists Young T, Bugsey and Headie One.
Ngirici then panned back into view, this time stunning as she posed next to her Lexus vehicle outside her house.
Ngirici smiled for the camera as she showed off her clearly made-up face, still holding the make-up brush.
In a purple dress, Ngirici went on to start perusing through government documents as she got into her car.
"Stay home, be safe!" Ngirici captioned the video, sparking mixed reactions from Kenyans online.
While others simply expressed their awe at her 'transformation', others advised her to focus on programs to help her constituents dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
"You have a beautiful bed mheshimiwa but please, we need food. We cannot sleep empty bellied and we voted for you," wrote Evans Muthaka.
"This is what Uhuru calls 'entertainment, you deserve a share of the Ksh100 million for artists," shared Maina wa Zukini.
"So in displaying your dashboard with stay at home platitudes you're playing your part as a leader?" questioned Patrick Wesonga.
In recent weeks, Ngirici has been vocal in her support for embattled Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru who faces an impeachment motion in the Kirinyaga County Assembly.
While the two have clashed in the past, Ngirici told leaders behind the motion to avoid wasting time on settling political scores and instead focus their energies on responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Waiguru should be presumed innocent until proven guilty as per the laws of the land while I must impress upon others to keep off the fight and let the two parties handle it their own way. And the constitutional process must be respected, Kenya is not a banana republic," she stated on Friday, April 3 in Mwea.
