Samuel Osore, who went viral after attempting to commit suicide on Monday, April 27, at the Kenyatta University Hospital was allegedly discharged from the facility on Tuesday, April 28 and arrested soon after.

Osore, who had threatened to end his own life as he was being held at the facility over unpaid bills despite testing negative for Covid-19, revealed that after the video attracted media attention, he, alongside others, was given a letter by administrators allowing them to leave the facility.

In a video he shared on Wednesday, April 28, Osore claims that the letter was bogus, accusing administrators of colluding with police as they were arrested soon after they left and taken to Mbagathi Hospital.

Health acting Director-General Patrick Amoth was yet to respond to queries made by Kenyans.co.ke on the allegations.

"After we caused a ruckus and threatened to kill ourselves we were given fake letters allowing us to leave, but we didn't know they had colluded with the police and the letters were bogus.

"We were arrested and taken to Mbagathi Hospital. Since last evening from around 4 p.m. when we arrived we have not been given anything to eat, not even supper or tea," he narrated.

He went on to appeal for support as he accused the government of being ridden with corruption, revealing that items had been stolen from his home while he was in the hospital.

"It seems this government is full of corruption, I'm appealing to the government. I can't do anything. When you put me in the hospital my house was raided, my things were stolen. I don't have anywhere to go.

"We are being fleeced. We are confined to our beds, we can't go anywhere. What sort of government is this, where you are brought and hit with a bill?

"We are asking for the government, wherever they are, to hear us and help us. We are in a jail. We don't have food or water," he stated.

Commenting on the issue, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria stated he had been left 'defeated and weak'.

"Now I am defeated and feel weak. 2 days ago I raised the issue of Samuel Osore who was discharged from Kenyatta University and Teaching & Referral Hospital but held back for non payment.

"After Osore attempted to commit suicide, he was released only to be rearrested and placed in isolation at Mbagathi. The reason he was released by KUTRH is because he was negative," he wrote.
