As former Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen ouster saga unravels, there is a new puzzle of how two senators appeared both on the State House Jubilee Senate Parliamentary Group list and the list submitted to Speaker Ken Lusaka by ousted Majority Whip Susan Kihika.

Murkomen was ousted after a lengthy meeting at State House on Monday, May 11, in which 22 Jubilee Party members, according to State House, attended including 20 senators.

Another list, purporting to be that of some 22 senators opposed to the move to oust the lawmaker started making rounds but what puzzled Kenyans was the two names that appeared on both lists.

The senators, Kamar Margaret Chepkoech (Uasin Gishu) and Milgo Alice Chepkorir (nominated), appeared on both lists hence confusing the masses on which side they supported or who was telling the truth.

The two reportedly appended their signatures on both lists according to lists obtained by Kenyans.co.ke.

Also on both lists was Trans Nzoia Senator Michael Mbito but in the pro-Murkomen list, the senator did not append his signature.

Senate Deputy Speaker Kithure Kindiki also failed to append his signature on the list.

Other senators who appeared on the list included Millicent Omanga (Nominated), Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and his Nandi counterpart Samson Cherargei.

Murkomen was axed alongside Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika (from her role as Majority Whip) after allegedly being accused of not supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta's agenda.

In their rejoinder, the leaders allied to DP Ruto claimed that the ouster did not follow the law arguing the State House meeting lacked quorum but proceeded with the decision anyway.

Murkomen later claimed that in his decision to uphold the ouster, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka was acting under duress.

The two ousted leaders have since sued Jubilee, KANU, Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju, Jubilee Chair Nelson Dzuya, Speaker Lusaka and Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu over the formation of a Jubilee-KANU coalition, and their sacking from the Senate.

Murkomen was replaced by West-Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio while Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata took Kihika's place.
