Celebrated comedian Wilbroda, formally known as Jacqueline Nyaminde, has finally come clean on the real reason why she has never appeared on Churchill Show's main stage.

Speaking during a special journey episode that concentrated on her career which aired on Sunday, June 14, Wilbroda disclosed that she has never ventured into stand up comedy owing to its numerous professional entertainers.

It all started when the show's host asked her why she has never appeared on the show, arguably the country's biggest stand-up stage.

"Jacky, why did you not come to pursue stand up comedy? You know everybody was rooting for you to try it?" Questioned Ndambuki.

"I think I developed a fear with the reason being I watch Churchill and the line up you have commissioned on the show is great. I usually wonder if I can get to their level," answered Nyaminde elaborating that Captain Otoyo (Kazungu Matano) was her favourite.

Nyaminde, who declined to pursue a career in Nursing for the love of theatre, disclosed that she began performing in the early 2000s while appearing in plays alongside Otoyo.

"There is something about him. He starts his narration in an unexpected format. He is an amazing storyteller. I even call him when preparing for Radio and I lack content. He is so giving," she noted.

Currently, Wilbroda works as a morning show host at Milele FM and recounts that her journey to the top was not an easy ride.

Her big break came after she landed the role of Wilbroda on Decade-long hit show Papa Shirandula, a role that she easily passed on owing to how it was presented to her.

"Somebody spotted me and they suggested that I should play the role of Wilbroda. When I was given the script, I was not feeling the character based on how it was narrated to me.

"When I read the script, however, I knew this is it because the character reminded me of my grandmother. I thank God because after playing the character, my doors were opened," stated Wilbroda noting that she landed endorsement deals shortly after that.

She proceeded to play the part for 10 years until rumours swirled that she had been axed from the show after joining Milele FM.

During the duration of her reign, however, her personal life experienced turbulence in that her father fell ill for a long time and was often in and out of the hospital.

"My dad was very stressed when he neared his death because he always worried about lacking a job while his daughter took care of everything. He used to pity me. All my money used to pay hospital bills.

"I used to lie to him at the hospital That I have paid rent. I had a lot of pressure. Sometimes we would wake up to find auctioneers around," stated the bubbly comedian.

She has, however, managed to build her mother a home from her fortune.
