Nyali MP Moha Jicho Pevu, formally known as Mohammed Ali, now claims that his life is in danger due to his ploy to impeach the Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia.
While addressing the media in Nairobi on Thursday, June 18, the former journalist appealed to Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to furnish his home with additional security.
"Some of the Members of Parliament that you are seeing here have already been summoned by the DCI and KRA.
"I want to say this, I want the Inspector General of Police to increase my security at home and in Parliament. I am dealing with a big fish. This fish must be named by all means," stated the lawmaker.
This revelation came after he noted that all MPs, including those who had appended their signatures for a motion seeking to impeach Transport CS James Macharia, abandoned the course and deserted him during the presser.
"How do you sign without reading? I also want to assure you and tell you that the standing order is very clear that once a member of Parliament appends a signature, he or she, cannot withdraw. So no one can withdraw and the motion will proceed.
"Today, I stand by myself before the media with no MP backing me up. All Mombasa MPs have disappeared yet I am dealing with Coast issues but I want to tell you this, I'd rather win or lose with honour and this motion must get into Parliament," stated the CS.
Ali tabled the motion in Parliament accusing Macharia of overseeing stalled projects worth Ksh100 billion, terming it as a gross violation of Article 73 of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
The MP also accused Macharia of overseeing the loss of Ksh1.5 billion in the housing project scandal.

Coast MPs issued a statement on Thursday explaining that they had ironed out transport issues, especially the Standard Gauge Railway cargo hauling with the CS, and reached a compromise.
"We, as Coast MPs, we had a meeting on Tuesday encompassing 30 constituencies and we met CS Macharia in his office.
"The most important topic regards the issue of SGR. We have discussed this for a long time. We met Macharia and Matiang'i and we agreed that the state would suspend the requirement that all cargo from the coast be transported by SGR," stated a representative.
On Sunday, June 14, a video of Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro also surfaced online where he claimed that Ali had forged some MPs' signatures in his pursuit to impeach the CS.
"CS Macharia has been accountable for every single shilling that has passed through his docket. I want to urge my good friend Mohamed Ali to stop petty politics.
"You know me very well, even politically. I checked some of the signatures on the document and some even had images of cows and you want to pass them as valid. We are well aware that the signatures are fake and we will not debate the motion in Parliament because it has not met the threshold," he asserted.
The matter is yet to be debated in Parliament.
