Kenyan actor Abel Mutua, on Saturday night, August 1, shared an inspiring story of how his wife got to earn more than him.

The Tahidi High star was humbled beyond words as he aired his last Celebrities First Encounter episode which revolved around his remarkable friendship with Kenyan comedian, Timothy Kimani, alias Njugush.

His was a tale of a prophecy coming full circle as he revealed how he helped a struggling Njugush get his first audition opportunity in 2013.

At the time, Abel was balling, as he puts it, with his acting career at his peak and red Mercedes Benz to match his status.

It was during this time that he met Njugush.

The budding comedian was struggling to make ends meet and as fate would have it, he was set to audition for Abel's play which was to be shot in Westlands, Nairobi.

However, due to unforseen circumstances, Abel was forced to cancel the shoot, not knowing that Njugush had already walked all the way from South B to a Shell petrol station along University Way as he headed to Westlands.

Luckily, he managed to get him on the phone and informed him of the changes.

Abel described Njugush as a man, who despite finding it hard to take a break, was full of humility.

It is this single trait that made the actor prophecy on Njugush's life.

"We were hurdled in the boot of a station wagon while heading to a shoot in Kiambu. I just looked at him and told him that he was destined for greatness just because of his humility. I went as far as telling him that after I helped him make his first Ksh100,000, I would be very happy and my work would be done," he narrated.

Njugush kept at it and finally got his big break in 2017. His first call was to Abel to inform him of the biggest deal of his life.

"He told me that a client had just offered him a million plus for a 2-month contract. At this time he was already consistently earning an average of Ksh200,000 a month," Abel narrated.

Not one to forget his humble beginnings, Njugush hired Abel Mutua's wife, Judy Nyawira, as his finance manager.

In a twist of fate, Abel jokingly explained how his wife was now earning much than he is, through her work with Njugush.

"Basically, Njugush has been feeding me and my family for over 2 years now. I am still amazed at just how things work out," he stated.
