Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives on Wednesday, August 5, arrested man who allegedly broke into a High Commissioner's residence and made away with several valuable household items.

The man identified as Brian Mbache Libasi was pounced on by DCI detectives from his hideout at Mwembeni area in Kibra.

The daring robbery took place back on Tuesday, June 23, at the High Commissioner's residence in Kileleshwa.

Mbache at the time of the robbery was working as a security guard at the residence.

It was a reprieve for the unnamed High Commissioner as during the raid, detectives recovered all household items reported to have been stolen.

The recovered items that included two carpets, a gas cooker, a fridge, shoes, bedsheets, curtains, a coffee table, a TV stand, a laptop among other items have been retained as exhibits.

Following his arrest, the former security guard will now be arraigned in court on Wednesday, August 5.

The DCI, however, failed to reveal the name of the High Commissioner or the country he represents due to security reasons.

High Commissioners have been a target for crimes as the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) detectives on Monday, August 3, apprehended a 34-year old woman believed to be a terror suspect.

The unit under the DCI stated that Tracy Wairimu Ndegwa sent two threatening letters to a High Commission in Nairobi on July, 31.
