A man identifying himself as Ongeri E.M made a passionate appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider appointing him as the Industrialisation Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS).

In a video that surfaced on Monday, August 10, Ongeri claimed that he was a manufacturing expert and stated some of his strengths that would make him a perfect fit for the job.

"I draw your attention to the industrialised and economically stable countries like Japan, Singapore and Malaysia, just like our country these nations had a dream.

"Back at home Mr President, your daring dream anchored along with the Big Four [Agenda] as a precursor in the realisation of our vision 2013, sir that dream is a valid one," explained Ongeri.

He added that he was a 'son of a nobody' with his father being a githeri cook in a local village school and the mother, an avocado vendor in the village.

Ongeri came up with an innovative tweak to the now-popular job-seeking method of carrying placards along busy roads in major cities and towns.

The man noted that his dream is well aligned with the President's Big Four Agenda that focuses on food security, affordable housing, manufacturing, and affordable healthcare.

"With no connections, no nothing but Mr President despite all these odds, I have a rare passion and integrity, I am full of the highly-needed energy, intellectual acumen and stamina that you are looking for to achieve your manufacturing dream.

"Mr President I have a dream, a dream that if given a chance, I will deliver so, I pose a question today is my dream valid during your tenure in office?"

He concluded his video by asking the public to comply with Ministry of Health Covid-19 containment guidelines and noted that he was looking forward to the president's response.

Uhuru on Wednesday, August 6, revealed he would appoint a few more youthful Kenyans as Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS) in the coming days as he hinted on a looming reorganisation of his Cabinet.

“I really look forward to working with our young people and as I said earlier, in the coming days I will be adding a good number of CASs of the same generation," he promised.
