"At least for once it won't be possible to be blamed for what someone said, "started in Wuhan as a virus, landed in Italy as a pandemic and now in Kenya as a multi-billion shilling corruption enterprise".

"Wacha niendelee kama spectator isorait (let me continue as a spectator, its alright)," stated the Deputy President.

The news article that bore the blurb, The Spectator, detailed how Ruto has been pushed away from project launches and purged from the centre of government.

It also highlighted how he has transformed his official Karen residence into a combination of a prayer sanctuary that he uses to host a number of religious gatherings.

With Ruto using the better part of 2019 launching government projects, the article talked of how in the last six months he has been domiciled permanently in Karen.

Ruto and The Standard have had a long documented frosty relationship as Ruto on Saturday, April 18, responded to a headline written by The Standard terming it as an insult to him and President Uhuru Kenyatta as his supporters burned copies of the newspaper.

Ruto also on Wednesday, April 29, responded to yet another of the paper's headlines after the day's issue ran with a cover story appearing to mock the DP for 'Speaking in Tongues' by saying, "The devil does not understand God's language".

The DP who was bashed by a section of Kenyans following his comments on police brutality on Tuesday, August 18 reiterated his previous remarks during his Nairobi County youth and women groups empowerment programme.

"Every Kenyan is entitled to the services of a professional, well-trained police that is focused on protecting and serving the interest of every citizen. That is why we changed it from a force to a service," he noted.
