Acclaimed Afro-pop band Sauti Sol on Saturday night, August 22, made history once again during the long-awaited Midnight Train virtual experience album launch.

The concert went down as the most-viewed YouTube premiere by a local artist, with live viewers peaking at 30,000, surpassing Nyashisnki's highly-acclaimed virual album launch in early April that peaked at 15,000 on Youtube and over 8,000 o Instagram.

Notably, a 23-year-old singer who goes by the name Xenia Manasseh caught the eye of thousands of Kenyans.

She performed alongside Sol Generation artists Nviiri and Bensoul.

Unknown to most, her journey to working with the award-winning band took at least 8 years.

On the Midnight Train album, Xenia did background vocals on the Intro, Nenda Lote, Insecure and Feel my love.

The girl with the 'sauti ya kumtoa nyoka pangoni' as Kenyans described her has been following the band since their Lazizi days.

"You cannot rush anything that is supposed to be yours. Working with them is amazing, they are extremely supportive and uplifting," she once stated during an interview.

An alumnus of the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, Xenia has already released her debut EP titled Fallin' Apart.

Xenia is signed as a songwriter with Atlanta-based The UpperClassmen Music Group, having written for Teyana Taylor's Shoot it Up album released in 2018.

She was among two other artists, Lisa Oduor-Noah and Okello Max, featured during the virtual concert. Joe Mutoria was the man behind the keyboard, Humphrey Otieno on the drums and Yvan Kwizera on the bass guitar.

On the night, Sauti Sol highlighted why they are touted as Africa's shining light on the global stage.

Renowned stylist Brian Babu did some of his best work to date, ensuring the artists  stood out for the entirety of their electrifying 91-minute performance.

Bensoul was the first Sol Generation artist to take to the stage for a solo act and it was clear to see why he has been tipped to make it to the very top.

Nviiri The Storyteller also performed some of his hit songs before they all came together to perform the hit single off the Midnight Train Album, Rhumba Japani.

Notably, all the singles from Sauti Sol's latest album have amassed over a million clicks on YouTube, despite the fact that they are all still just audio tracks.
