Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua ignited a debate on social media on Wednesday, September 23, when he accused ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi of copying his political strategies and ideas.

Mutua stated that he and his supporters had noticed the ANC leader go public with some of his ideas, his concepts and even part of his presidential manifesto.

"This has been going on for long enough. It has reached such high levels that when I strategise with my team, we joke that we have to be hush hush or Mudavadi and other leaders will copy us," Mudavadi stated.

Hitting out at Mudavadi's latest political strategy of using sheng to address the youth, Mutua stated that he was the first to come up with the idea.

He stated that he had used the street lingo on a number of occasions while asking the youth to shun tribalism as well as call out spectators in the political arena.

"Now again, Hon. Mudavadi, has copied me and released a video targeting the youth where he struggles to speak in Sheng to them," he added.

The Machakos Governor lamented that his ideas had been taken by other political leaders who repeated them as their own.

He encouraged his counterparts to be creative and innovative as well to think of ways that they can transform the country.

"I respect Hon. Musalia Mudavadi as a leader and person and can even say he is more decent when compared to many others but please, Ndugu Musalia, shun from coping my tactics," he asserted.

His sentiments have since attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans, some who support him and others who do not.

"Two years to the next election. You are a sitting governor of a certain county people are expecting services from you. Instead of focusing on service delivery to your people, who have entrusted you with their resources, you are busy politicking. How is this going to improve the welfare of the people u represent," .one Kimani stated.

"When a random person emulates what you are doing or intending to do, rest assured you are miles ahead of him," another social media user added.
