"The only constant in life is change," Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher once said.
In a period of ten years, a lot is bound to change or happen, especially in the day to day activities and careers and one can only hope that the change will be for the good.
Below are a number of Kenyan TV anchors and a comparison of their lives in 2010 and 2020;
1.) Larry Madowo
Madowo started his career in Nairobi as a Trainee reporter at the Kenya Television Network (KTN) he launched and anchored Kenya’s first daytime business programme KTN Financial Markets Live as well as KTN Business Today.
He would later move to NTV but did not stay long before he moved to CNBC Africa as a business and financial news reporter before he returned back to NTV.
He returned to NTV as both a news anchor and a show host for the popular 'The Trend' show until he quit in 2018, when he went to join BBC Africa.
Madowo left BBC Africa in 2019 to further his studies at Columbia University in the US on a journalism fellowship and is currently working as a US Correspondent for the global arm of BBC World and BBC World Service.
On his social media pages, Madowo posted a photo comparing his career journey and captioned it, " How it started: How it’s going:"
2.) Smriti Vidyarthi
She is a news anchor and reporter at NTV.
Additionally, she hosts NTV Wild which consists of NTV Wild, a series of entertaining and educational wildlife documentaries, and "NTV Wild Talk"
On her social media pages, Vidyarthi indicated that she and her colleague Mark Masai went on air together for the first time in October 2008.
"Who’d have thought we’d find ourselves together over a decade later! I’m most grateful for my colleague who became my on air partner, who became my dear, dear friend," she wrote on Instagram.
3.) Mark Masai
The renowned news anchors journey begun in 2008 at the age of 22.
Masai, who has been in the station for a period of 12 years, hosts Press Pass where panelists have a conversation on how media across the board has handled various issues during the week.
4.) Jane Ngoiri
10 years ago, Ngoiri was an English news anchor at K24 TV.
In previous interviews, the news anchor narrated that she filled in for a Swahili news anchor who was sick and would start anchoring in the language from then on.
She left K24 in 2011 and joined NTV as a Swahili news anchor.
5.) Alex Chamwada
He is a media consultant and the founder and CEO of CHAMS media limited.
Currently, his products include; Daring Abroad Series that focuses on life-changing stories of Kenyans working or doing business abroad and The Chamwada Report.
Previously, the renowned journalist worked as a journalist at KTN News.
