Kenya's Daily Covid-19 Cases Jump to 538

Kenya has recorded 538 more Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours as the country's total caseload rises to 41,158.

In a statement to newsrooms on Saturday, October 10, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 6,872 samples had been tested over the period bringing the total number of samples tested so far to 586,911.

Of the positive cases, 496 were Kenyans and 42 foreigners.

430 were male and 108 were female while the youngest case is a one-year old and the oldest is aged 85.

At the same time, 61 patients were discharged 40 from home-based care program and 21 from the hospital around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 30,937.

Regrettably, five patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 760.

In the county distribution, Nairobi county led with 157 cases, Bungoma (118), Nakuru (48), Turkana (41), Mombasa (33), Kilifi (31), Uasin Gishu (16), Kisumu (13), Kisii (12), Meru (12), Garissa (9), Trans Nzoia (9).

 

Both Narok and Kiambu counties recorded 8 cases, Kakamega (6), Isiolo (4), Kwale (3), Nyaira (2), Kitui (2), Migori (2), Busia (1), Elgeyo Marakwet (1) and Marsabit (1).

The cases in Nairobi county were reported in Lang'ata (42), Kibra (23), Starehe (19), Embakasi Central (15), Roysambu (13), Westlands (8), Embakasi West (7), Kasarani (6), Dagoretti South and Ruaraka (4) cases each.

All the cases in Bungoma county were from Kanduyi area. In Nakuru, the 48 cases were from Nakuru East (21), Naivasha (18), Nakuru West and Rongai (3) cases each, Gilgil, Molo and Nakuru North (1) case each.

In Turkana, the 41 cases are from Turkana West (36) and Turkana Central (5). In Mombasa, the 33 cases are from Mvita (18), Jomvu (5), Changamwe, Kisauni and Likoni (3) cases each, Nyali (1).

Cases in Kilifi county were reported in Magarini (18), Malindi (11) and Kaloleni (2). Uasin Gishu county cases were from Ainabkoi (12), Turbo (3) and Soy (1).

In Kisumu, the cases are from Kisumu Central (12) and Nyando (1). In Kisii, the 12 cases are from Kitutu Chache South (10) and Nyaribari Chache (2) while in Meru county, the 12 cases are all from Igembe North.
