602 Covid-19 Cases Recorded in Last 24 Hours

Kenya has recorded 602 more Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours as the country's total caseload rises to 43,143.

In a statement on Thursday, October 15, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 5,618 samples had been tested over the period bringing the total number of samples tested so far to 607,241.

Of the positive cases, 585 were Kenyans and 17 are foreigners.

407 are male and 195 were female while the youngest case is a one-year old child and the oldest is aged 93 years.

At the same time, 80 patients were discharged; 51 from home-based care programme and 29 from hospitals around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 31,508.

Regrettably, eight patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 805.

In the county distribution, Nairobi leads with 133 cases followed by Nakuru 47, Uasin Gishu 47, Kilifi 46, Kisumu 46, Mombasa 44, Kericho 32, Kakamega 28, Turkana 25, Kisii 21, Machakos 20, Laikipia 13, Nyandarua 12, Bungoma 12, Kiambu 11, Nandi 10.

Busia county reported seven cases, Kajiado (7), Baringo (6), Garissa (6), West Pokot (5), Nyamira (5), Makueni (3), Nyeri (2), Embu (2), Siaya (2), Bomet (2), Vihiga (2), Lamu (1), Wajir (1), Samburu (1), Narok (1), Murang'a (1) and Meru (1). 

In Nairobi, the 133 cases are from Roysambu (21), Westlands (19), Lang'ata (18), Embakasi East, Embakasi South and Embakasi West (7) cases each, Kasarani and Kibra (6) cases each.

Dagoretti North, Dagoretti South, Embakasi North, Kamukunji, Makadara, Ruaraka and Starehe (5) cases each, Embakasi Central (4) and Mathare (3).

In Nakuru County, the 47 cases were from Nakuru West (24), Naivasha (13), Nakuru East (8), Njoro and Rongai (1) case each.

In Uasin Gishu county, the 47 cases were from Ainabkoi (41), Kapseret and Turbo (2) cases each, Kesses and Soy (1) case each.
