Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria resurfaced with a recorded message for President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday, October 29, warning him on the direction the country is heading.
"I can sense some smell of what is coming from the ground on what is coming and I want to tell Kenyans that its not a good smell, the ambers of 2007/08. What happened at Kenol the other day should be something that should frighten each one of us," the legislator warned.
He further pleaded with the President to cancel his planned retreat to Naivasha with ODM Party leader Raila Odinga as it would plunge the country deeper into a divided state.
As for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), Kuria repeatedly expressed his desire to see the report sail through uncontested, arguing that if taken to the ballot, the country would plunge into chaos.
He went on to reveal that Deputy President William Ruto was under a lot of pressure from his team to turn up at the Bomas of Kenya on October 26, and announce that he would be leading a 'No to the referendum' movement.
However, according to the vocal MP, DP Ruto opted to get on board with the initiative to avoid any possible conflict among Kenyans based on the BBI.
Interestingly, the Gatundu South MP said that the DP's followers from across the country do not belong to the ruling Jubilee Party, nor any other political party.
This was his reason for asking the President to cancel his planned retreat with the former Prime Minister, as the DP's team would not be represented.
"Saying a meeting between the two is all-inclusive because one is from ODM and the other from the Jubilee Party would be a lie. You know very well that the millions of Kenyan who support Ruto do not belong to any political party and it is high time that they are recognized as such," he asserted.
Kuria has been missing in action for a while, having tested positive for Covid-19 in August 2020, only revealing his condition 27 days after he was admitted and treated at the Karen Hospital in Nairobi.
