Patient Dies in Grisly Accident Involving Ambulance Along Mombasa road

A family is mourning the death of their kin who died after being involved in a grisly accident along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway on Sunday, November 8.

A report by Citizen TV indicated that the patient was being transferred in an ambulance to the Coast General Hospital for specialised treatment when the accident occurred.

The driver of the ambulance reportedly lost control of the vehicle and rolled several times.

Reports indicated that the patient had been admitted at Moi Referral Hospital in Voi, before plans were made to have him transferred to another facility.

After the accident, the patient was rushed back to Moi Referral Hospital where he is said to have succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

Other reports indicated that the patient developed breathing problems after the accident.

Also in the car was a relative to the deceased and medical personnel both of whom sustained injuries. They were taken to Moi Referral Hospital for treatment.

Police have lunched investigations into the incident to ascertain the course of the crash.

Elsewhere on the same day, police officers sustained injuries after a car they were travelling in crashed after one its tyres burst along Lang'ata Road.

The accident occurred near the Lang'ata Army Barracks leaving a badly damaged car.
