Additionally, she will serve as the key media contact and the representative for the NMS.

So far, the journalist has been involved in a number of NMS projects with her latest being the launch of the city commuter rail which will see the patronage of 132,000 commuters everyday.

"It is a new dawn Nairobi. Beating the city's traffic! At the commissioning of the refurbished Nairobi Central Rail Station. Meanwhile decongestion of the city underway," she captioned one of her posts on Instagram.

Gakuo is among journalists who have managed to find other opportunities since Mediamax Network Limited fired its newsroom staff at its broadcaster K24 TV in June 2020.

Daniel Kariuki, a former K24 journalist, has found a new home in KTN news, where he will be reporting on political stories.

His previous show at K24 TV was a segment on the station's morning slot called Lishe Bora that centered around cooking.

Sam Njoroge, who anchored day time bulletin returned to KBC while sports show host Tony Kwalanda landed a night slot at Switch TV.

The former staffers had sued the station's management declining to take a pay cut that the station was instituting as a cost cutting measure.
