The presenter expressed gratitude to fellow co-hosts, Jeff Mote and Sheila Kwamboka, who he thanked for a good run at the station.

He noted that presenters, Kerry Martin and Lotan Salapei, would take over the show.

"It has been such an honour and I am forever grateful to Myke and John Rabar and the Homeboyz group for mentoring me and to all the amazing people at HBR who became family," he expressed.

The presenter also thanked his listeners for walking the journey with him.

Wachira doubles up as a TV host, a Corporate MC, a DJ and Human rights champion. Currently, he hosts a show on K24 TV called The Loop.

His announcement comes at a time the media space has seen disruption including presenter Amina Mohammed quitting Capital FM.

Her co-host, Fareed Khimani, announced during his Capital in the Morning show that Amina had left the station.

“Amina Abdi will not be returning and I will be joined soon by a new co-host. She has gone to do big and better things,” Khimani announced.
