Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid received yet another youthful boost after a group of young women came together to support his course.
Dubbed Wasupa na Ruto, the group through its leadership stated that it was officially lunching on November 30, and went on to share its manifesto and riding mantra.
"As youth we don't need tax holidays, we need jobs. We are solely focused on ensuring Ruto gets to become the country's 5th president as he will deliver on this and more," Susana Mwende Muthoni, one of the founding members explained.
She further revealed that the Wasupa na Ruto movement had 4 chapters spread across the country; in Embu, Nyandarua, Mombasa and Kirinyaga.
The all-girl group also detailed their plans to run for political office in 2022, arguing that it was time for the youth to rise up and take charge under DP Ruto's banner.
"We as the youth have the capacity and the numbers to effect change," stated Anne Karimi.
She detailed the group's manifesto and announced that they were looking forward to working alongside like minded politicians.
The group donned matching shirts with the words 'Wasupa na Ruto' emblazoned on them, with a huge matching banner placed in the background.
DP Ruto has been targeting the youth in his campaigns, with his choice of words a clear indication of the people he is looking to secure ahead of the 2022 General Elections.
He has constantly urged the youth to start small businesses and grow.
