Uhuru Gifts Chris Kirubi Special Award

Kenyan Businessman Chris Kirubi was presented with the prestigious Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) award by His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a gazette notice dated Friday, December 18, 2020, Kirubi, who is the largest shareholder of Centum Investment, was among other leaders recognized for their outstanding achievements.

Kirubi expressed gratitude for the recognition, promising to continue with his philanthropic endeavours across the country.

"I am greatly honoured to receive the First Class: Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) from His Excellency President Kenyatta. My goal is to keep empowering the youth through employment with a focus on making a living and building the future of Kenya," Kirubi stated on social media.

Along with Kirubi, Central Bank of Kenya Governor Patrick Njoroge, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Director-General James Githii Mburu, and Ministry of Lands Cabinet Secretary Dr Nicholas Muraguri were also feted by the head of state.

Central Organisation of Trade Unions Secretary-General Francis Atwoli, Ministry of Health Chief Administrative Secretaries Mercy Mwangangi and Dr. Rashid Aman, Senate Chief Whip Irung'u Kang'ata, Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, and Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege were among those presented with the prestigious first-class CBS award.

Nairobi Metropolitan Services Director General Mohammed Badi Abdallah led Major Generals (Dr) Nganga, George Kiguta, Ongoyi Onyango, Martin Kizito,  Farah Said Mohamed,  Kendagor Albert Kiprop, Kivunzi Joseph Mutwi, Mwangi Jon^ Mama, Major (Rtd) Mativo Boniface Mutuku, and Major (Rtd) Kosen Raphael Karbuali in receiving the award.

Others who received the prestigious first-class CBS award included; Honourables; Okello William Ouko, Mutua Florence Mwikah, Lessonet Moses, Odoyo Peter Ochieng, Kitalei Kachapm Simon, Kiage Patrick Omwenga, and Mirenga Ken Obura.

Citizen TV News Anchor Trevor Ombija was also awarded the Head of States Commendation (HSC) Civilian Division.

Nairobi City County Health CEC Hitan Majevdia was awarded by President Uhuru.

"Expressing in words is just not enough as the feeling is absolutely immeasurable. It's truly a privilege to be honoured by the prestigious Elder of The Order of The Burning Spear award. I humbly express my gratitude to the president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta for this esteemed recognition," Majevdia stated following the award.
