Celebrated KTN News anchor Grace Kuria has called it quits.

While hosting the station's lunch time bulletin, the beloved anchor disclosed that the Sunday, January 11, would mark her last bulletin at KTN News.

She served at the station for two years since joining in January 2019 after she was poached from K24 TV

"I take this opportunity to say thank you to God, thank you to my family. Thank you to Standard Group management. Thank you to my colleagues and thank you to you my viewer for all the love, criticism and words of encouragement.

"What has a beginning has an end and this has been my last broadcast on KTN News and KTN Home. God bless you," she announced.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the anchor disclosed that she was leaving to do a different project but she would be back on TV.

"I am just going to do a different thing. I am taking a break now but I will be back on TV soon. You will have to wait and see," she said.

She, however, did not explain the reason for her departure.

In September 2020, the anchor had opened up exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke on battling a chronic illness that made her struggle with mobility and forced her in and out of work for a few months.

The anchor revealed that she had been battling the illness for the past few months but recovered and returned back to the screens in July.

The Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) alumnus battled with the illness she opted not to reveal from May to July.

She had to undergo physiotherapy to fully regain her mobility.

She fully recovered from the illness after a series of treatments and has been anchoring the 1 pm news on KTN from time to time. According to sources close to the anchor, doctors warned that her condition had no cure but could only be managed.

Kuria joined K24 TV as a camera operator after graduating from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

She, however, developed her passion in the features division and rose through the ranks to become one of the country's best reporters and anchors
