Churchill Show, stand-up version, is set to return this weekend after managers announced a physical event where tickets are going for Ksh 5,000 per head.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the General Manager of Churchill Show stated that the show will be filmed at Lake Naivasha Resort on Saturday, February 13.
He further noted that nine presenters, including MC Jessy were expected to perform at the event which will be aired on Sunday evening, February 14 on NTV.
The manager further revealed that the event was targeting individuals that would book accommodation at the resort or nearby hotels to beat curfew demands by the state.
"There will be about nine performers at the event. We are looking at not more than 600 people. You are paying for dinner and entertainment which is Ksh5,000.
"We are presuming that anyone who is who will book the ticket will be staying at the hotel. The hotel's capacity is about 100 beds. They also have other nearby resorts," he stated.
He also noted that throughout the filming of the show, Covid-19 measures as directed by the Ministry of Health would be observed to curb the spread of the deadly disease.
Asked whether the return of the stand-up meant the end of Churchill Show Journey Series, the manager explained that the recoded comedy show would first air two episodes as the team awaits government directive on public gatherings.
"The hotel is very strict about Covid-19 issues. Each guest's temperature will be taken at the hotel and at the show as well.
"Because of government not giving us a way forward, we cant make a permanent decision. We will air it for maybe two episodes and the usual continues until the government gives us a way ahead," he added.
Other comedians expected to grace the event include MCA Tricky, Mammito, Captain Otoyo, Jemutai and Terrence Creative.
Prior to the lockdown, the show, which films till late night, charged Ksh500 for a regular ticket and Ksh1,000 for VIP.
Each show attracted an estimated paying audience of 1,000 people.
