Valentine's Day hit everybody different this year thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. The effects of the pandemic are still as hard as ever, but lovers took time to express their feelings on this special day.
The day, presented the perfect opportunity for everyone to show their loved ones that they care - even in the middle of a pandemic. In some instances, it does not require expensive getaways or exotic gifts.
A simple message can suffice, as did these stars when they shared their heartfelt message with their better halves to let them know that they have a special place in their hearts.
Julie Gichuru
The former Citizen TV anchor Julie Gichuru adores her husband Anthony Gichuru since the two formalised their union 22 years ago.
In her special message, Gichuru praised her husband as a respectful individual who always encourages her in life.
"22 years of love. It's not about a day of romance or material things. It is about friendship and respect. Laughing together. Praying together. Understanding each other, well. Supporting and encouraging each other. Comforting and strengthening each other. Respecting each other.
"Love is not static, it is a continuous series of actions that feed a state of being. Wishing you deep and lasting love," shared Gichuru.
Waihiga Mwaura
Citizen TV anchor Waihiga Mwaura and his wife Joyce Omondi are easily one of the media's most famous couples.
The two met while working at Royal Media Services, where Mwaura was a sports journalist while Omondi hosted the station's Sunday morning show, Rauka.
Since their union, the two truly became one and have never stopped showering each other with praises.
"Dancing to the music of life with my forever Valentine Joyce Omondi," stated Waihiga Mwaura and which his wife applauded.
Nameless
Arguably the power couple of the Kenyan music industry, David Mathenge, popularly known as Nameless, and his Wife Wahu Kagwi, are celebrating over 16 years since their union materialised.
The two tied the knot in a wedding ceremony on the shores of Lake Naivasha that reportedly set them back Ksh 1 million.
Since their union, the two have proved that no situation is two big for them to handle and their marriage has largely served as the poster boy for long-lasting love.
"Kama ni wako ni wako (If she is with you, she will be yours). Happy Valentines from the Mathengez," celebrated Nameless with a suggestive photo of the two entertainers.
MP David Sankok
Even though politics can be gruelling, Nominated MP David Sankok has proved that his family life will always remain as strong as it has ever been.
The popular MP takes every chance to shower his wife, Hellen Seyianoi, with praises besides flying her to exotic destinations across the world as well as getting her tasteful gifts.
This year, the lawmaker kept it simple with a simple message showing that he appreciates his wife for choosing him.
"You chose me when I was poor. It is worse to be poor and disable at the same time because the able-bodied will promise to use physical strength to better their tomorrow,
"A disabled poor person is presumed to be a potential candidate of street beggars," shared Sankok.
