Detectives have unraveled a murder case in which 3 individuals were found dead at a house in Government Quarters along Jogoo Road in Nairobi.

In a report, a team investigating the murder concluded that Kevin Koech, a senior seminarian who was awaiting to graduate as a Catholic priest, suffocated Charity Cheboi and her eight year old son Allan Kipngetich before he committed suicide.

They argued that there could not have been a forth person in the house since Koech had locked himself in a toilet, where a jiko was found.

"If there would have been another person in the house, there is no way Koech could have locked himself from the toilet.  It seems it is the deceased man who locked it to enhance his mission to die," an officer privy to the matter stated.

Detectives have now planned to visit St Thomas of Aquinas Seminary in Karen, Nairobi to understand Koech's character.

As at now, however, investigators have not established what the motive of the murder was.

Government pathologist Johansen Oduor stated that Charity Cheboi and her eight-year-old son died from suffocation on adding that their noses and mouth had been covered.

Koech, on the other hand, died from carbon monoxide emanating from a jiko found next to him.

Preliminary results showed that Koech's hands and legs had been tied with electric cables and his body did not have any visible injuries.

"It is difficult to establish if Koech tied the ropes himself or they were tied by someone else. However, they look loose so it could be either," the pathologist added.

Cheboi and her son were each holding a rosary. She had bruises on her face while her son had blood oozing from the mouth.

“Both the woman and her 8-year old son had vomited on the bed. They lay side by side,” the detectives stated.
