ODM leader Raila Odinga was taken back to the Nairobi Hospital, a few days after he was discharged and directed to isolate at home.
Insiders privy to the information said that Raila checked in at the hospital on Thursday, March 18 after scheduling an appointment with his doctors.
"His doctors wanted to see him. He was attended to and allowed to go home and continue with the self-isolation,"
Oburu Odinga, his elder brother, confirmed that Raila checked in at the hospital for a routine check up with the doctors after he tested positive for Covid-19.
"Raila is doing well. It was just a normal check-up. He is back home," Oburu told the People Daily.
Odinga was first admitted at the Nairobi Hospital on Tuesday, March 9, after he complained of body ache, fatigue and other symptoms.
Two days later, he tested positive for Covid-19. His doctors confirmed, saying that he was progressing well and will be monitored for further developments.
Raila was discharged a few days later and he shared a video on his social media pages, thanking his doctors and assuring his followers that he was feeling better.
"It is wonderful. It is so nice to be back home. It was like a prison back there. I like to be in the fresh air and to see nature. I will be strictly self-isolating until further notice," Raila said on Sunday, March 14.
He urged Kenyans to continue taking precautionary measures and follow regulations set up by the Ministry of Health. These are washing hands, isolating and social-distancing.
On Thursday, March 18, Kenya recorded its highest daily Covid-19 positive cases in the year 2021. 1,225 people had tested positive for Covid-19, out of a sample size of 7,308 tested in 24 hours. 17 succumbed to the virus as announced by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.
As of that day, the total number of positive cases stood at 116, 310, with 1,937 fatalities and 89,061 recoveries recorded.
