A woman has narrated how her first date with a boyfriend she met on Facebook turned tragic after he allegedly threw her off the 12th floor of a building.

The complainant, Eunice Wangari Wakimbi, told Nairobi Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu on March 22, 2021, that she was meeting her date, Moses Njoroge, at his office on Ambank House in Nairobi's CBD on September 13, 2020 when the incident happened.

She had travelled all the way from her home in Karura, Kiambu County, to meet Njoroge whom she met on Facebook.

She told the court that after a while, they left the office together to buy lunch and some alcohol, which they took back to the office and enjoyed together.

Wangari told the court that at about 7.30 pm, she informed Njoroge that she wanted to travel back home, at which point a disagreement ensued between them.

It was during the fight that Moses allegedly threw her off the window on the 12th floor of the building and she luckily fell on the 9th floor.

She told the court that she suffered serious pelvic injuries, and was taken to Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment before the matter was reported to the authorities.

Eunice was still being aided to walk during the hearing as she is yet to fully recover.

In his testimony, her father told the court that he received a phone call from his daughter - who sounded distraught - informing him that someone was threatening to throw her off a building.

He told the court that he rushed to the Central Police Station to report the incident, only to learn that the incident had already been reported by a security guard.

The court heard that Wangari spent two months at the Kenyatta National Hospital undergoing treatment.

The matter is still in court.
