The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced a virtual training for the Transport Integrated Management system.

"We are revamping efficiency and increasing reliability of our TIMS platform for great user experience. To participate in our virtual training, follow this link and register; https://bit.ly/3a7CITR," wrote the authority.

The link issued directs you to an online registration form. It presents two options on the registration type. You will then be required to fill in details depending on the option selected and submit. The registration closes on Saturday, April 24.

TIMS is an online platform created to enable citizens to access NTSA services conveniently. All government services offered by NTSA migrated to the platform in January 2017 to ease the access of services.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced a free online training for the Transport Integrated Management system (TIMS).

The authority further requested clients with pending or rejected processes to log into their personal TIMS accounts and complete the applications before Monday, April 26.

A TIMS account requires a national identification serial number, a KRA pin, and a phone number to register.

The NTSA  TIMS account offers services including vehicle registration, car inspection, application of duplicate logbook, application of driving license, guidelines for training drivers, transfer of car ownership, online car search, reflective number plate application, and registration of physical or functional changes to cars.

According to NTSA, account holders are individuals, companies, driving schools, financial institutions, dealers, and agents.

NTSA has previously received complaints from clients in accessing the platform hence prompting the training. The ongoing lockdown put in place to curb the spread of covid-19 has posed a challenge in holding physical training which makes the online way easier.

On Thursday 8, the authority announced a new venue for mass inspection of cars for motorists outside the on-zoned area. They were advised to access the service by making a booking through the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) account and select any available date in the system.

NTSA advises the government on national policy with regard to the road transport system, develops and implements road transport safety strategies, facilitates the education of the members of the public on road safety, and conducts research and audits on road safety.

Additionally, it is responsible for establishing a system and procedures for and overseeing the training, testing, and licensing of drivers and formulating and reviewing the curriculum of driving schools.
